2 March 2021
Tuesday 2nd March 2021
Thank you! 730 of you ( as at 9am this morning ) have given consent for your child to take the 3 COVID tests over the next fortnight. Fantastic, but we still would like as many of you as possible to sign up.
We still need your help! It’s so important that we get as many people as we can taking these tests to protect everyone in school, and to ensure we minimise any further possible disruption with positive cases. We will still need to send children home if positive cases happen in school …. these tests will really help us all to prevent that.
A few extra points:
- What does the test involve? It’s really easy! A swab in your nostril and throat, or up both nostrils and you receive the result within 30 minutes. All carried out by Werneth staff. We have been completing tests throughout this lockdown period for staff and students in school.
- If you are not able to complete the form electronically, let us know by contacting us in school and we can complete the form for you with your consent.
- I made a mistake by missing 8W off the times below. They are now back in for 11.00 - 11.50 on Friday.
- Remember test number 1 is this THURSDAY or FRIDAY for Years 8 to 11. See the details below, and we look forward to seeing you. Year 7 have their first test on Monday.
- Link for the test consent form is here: Consent form

Notes for the testing on Thursday and Friday:
- Students arrive for their slot, take their test then return home.
- Testing will take place at the times shown above on this day. You can arrive at any time within your slot. We hope that your child will not need more than 10 minutes to take the test.
- Please help us to minimise disruption over the coming weeks by sending your child into school at this time. It will mean they then only need a further 2 tests over the next fortnight.
- Students must use the Higson Avenue ( Sports Hall ) entrance.
- Students must observe social distancing at all times, and must wear a mask. Uniform is not required for this.
- We can only test your child if you have returned the consent form above: students who are not taking a test must not come into school.
