Parental Update: Friday 16th July 2021

We will provide a much longer update next Wednesday when we leave school at the end of term.  The purpose of today’s update is to remind you of arrangements for the final few days of the summer term.

The national roadmap indicates that face coverings are a matter of personal choice from Monday.  They are therefore optional from next week in school.  However, parents should be aware that Stockport MBC advise young people to continue to wear face coverings when indoors next week, because cases remain high in Stockport for people in the secondary age group.

We will be maintaining our year bubbles for social times next week.

Students will today have form time, a shortened period 1 and 2 with their normal Blue Wednesday teachers, break and then an end of term session with their form tutors.

Buses are ordered for midday.

Arrangements are available for children who receive free school meals.

School finishes at midday on Wednesday 21st for the summer break.

School buses are booked for this time.

All students in year 7-9 should come to school in their werneth PE kit - any issues with PE kit please email tracy.sloane@wernethschool.com and we will support as much as possible.

Students will participate in their year group sports day. The weather forecast looks good (fingers crossed) so students should ensure they have plenty of water (fizzy drinks not allowed) and have sun cream to apply. We will have sun cream available and students will have the opportunity to sit in the shade on the field if needed.

Any students that are medically unable to take part in sports day will need to show their form tutor a note but will still be allowed to wear their PE kit

We will also have an ice cream on site for sports day as a reward. Students can purchase items from it during their time on the field (cash or contactless bank card payment accepted)

Please discuss with your son/daughter what they are taking part in for sports day and feel free to research the event on YouTube so they get a feel of the excellence level they are striving for

Have a good weekend!
