A few other quick notices at the start of the new term ….
The Key Stage 3 exams are currently taking place. They started this week with Year 7, and Year 7 have conducted themselves very well. Exams are important practice for the “really important ones” in Year 11, but we also use them to understand children’s progress of course at key points through school. Next week sees Year 8 Exams, and Year 9 Exams begin on Tuesday 3rd May. (An additional Maths exam takes place week beginning 25th April for Year 9 too)
English, Maths and Science Exams will take place in the Hall. All other exams will take place in classrooms during lesson time. Your child's class teacher will tell children when the exam will take place. Class teachers will also be setting revision homework ahead of the exams.
Students need to bring a pen, pencil, ruler, rubber and calculator to their exams. Students need to ensure they conduct themselves appropriately in the exams. Please support us by reminding your child that there is no talking or communication whilst an exam is taking place. Students who disrupt an exam will receive a detention the next day. If they already have detention that day the detention for disrupting an exam will take place and the next available afternoon.
Drama Club - We're starting a new project!
All welcome, after school on Wednesday in A4 3:15 to 4:00 p.m.
Mr Foulkes organised a Year 8 rewards trip on the last day of the spring term. 60 students in Year 8 had a great day at Hollywood Bowl after a fantastic term at Werneth. Well done to all of the year 8 students who enjoyed the trip | ![]() |
