Werneth School is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the accessibility regulations.

We have chosen to apply the standard to this website as a whole rather than only to that content.

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Some images do not have a text alternative, so the information in them is not available to people using a screen reader. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1, non-text content.
  • On some pages headings are not used in a logical order, which makes the page harder to navigate with a screen reader. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1, info and relationships.
  • Some tables do not have properly marked up header cells, so the relationship between a cell and its heading is not clear to a screen reader. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1, info and relationships.
  • Some information is presented as text inside an image, which cannot be read by a screen reader or resized cleanly. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.5, images of text.

Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Some parts of our website rely on services provided by other organisations, for example online payments, booking forms, maps and calendars. Third party content that is neither funded nor developed by us, and is not under our control, is exempt from the regulations. Where we can, we ask suppliers to improve accessibility, and we will provide the same information another way on request.
