Werneth School is an 11-16 mixed, non-selective secondary school in Stockport.  Werneth School is an academy member of the Education Learning Trust.  Education Learning Trust is a Stockport-based multi academy trust comprising three primary schools and two secondary schools.  We strive to “Collaborate, Empower and Achieve” in everything that we do.

Our school is located in a brand new building in Bredbury, and is served primarily by 9 feeder primary schools. We work closely with our primary colleagues to ensure transition from primary is as seamless as possible.

Werneth is renowned for its inclusive ethos, as can be seen by our Quality Mark accreditation for Inclusion, and our Gold Accreditation for Young Carers.  Werneth serves a wide spectrum of families with a range of diverse needs.

The school is committed to the development of a broad and balanced curriculum, from Year 7 through to Year 11.  At Key Stage 3, students follow the national curriculum, and at Key Stage 4 our students are offered an extremely wide selection of traditional and vocational courses ranging from three modern foreign languages, history and geography through to catering, childcare and hair & beauty.

Werneth plays a key part in our local community.  Our students have access to the Manchester United Foundation within school, allowing a range of opportunities to broaden their school experience.  This is also strengthened by community programmes, such as our Friday evening StreetReds football coaching led by United coaches.  Our school has a strong history of music, dance and drama and students perform regularly in festivals and events.  We also hold events in the community, with parental opportunities to meet us out and about in Brinnington, Bredbury and Romiley as well as events further afield in the UK and abroad.  Student leadership and our gifted and talented programme are emerging strengths of our school, to ensure every student has access to a range of educational opportunities that prepare them for the future.
