17 November 2022, 5.00pm

Dear former student,

We hope you are enjoying the next steps in your life - whether that’s at college, or in employment … I’m sure it’s an exciting time for you as you adjust and meet new people. We haven’t forgotten about you here at school, and we want to invite you to come and receive your GCSE certificates in school.  We are going to do that in a completely different way this year.

In the past, we have held a formal event where you hear speeches and collect your certificates from a stage.  It’s never been particularly well attended, and we actually think it would be more useful for you to catch up with each other one final time as a group, and get to talk to your teachers about how you are doing.  Without the formal part!

So this year, we are offering a Celebration Evening on Thursday 17th November between 5pm and 6.30pm here at school.  You will collect your certificates without the fuss, we will provide some nice food for you in the main hall, and more importantly you can meet your friends and your teachers for a catch up.  All of your teachers will be present.  No formality, no speeches.  Just a nice opportunity to come back into school and have a catch up.

If your parents/carers wish to join you, they are of course welcome but this isn’t essential.

If you want to come along, please just complete the google form below confirming your name and the number of parents/carers accompanying you so that we make sure we have enough food for everyone.

We hope to see you then!  If you aren’t able to make it, you will be able to just come into school and collect your GCSE certificates from reception with effect from 21st November.

Yours sincerely,
