Dear Parents / Carers
If a student is registered for Free School Meals, the allowance is added to their school meal account
automatically.
The Free School Meal Allowance is available for students to use during the lunch time service to ensure they have the option of a nutritious healthy hot meal.
If your child would like to purchase food at the breaktime service you will need to top up their account with additional funds or alternatively a snack could be provided from home.
We are looking at alternative funding initiatives in terms of being able to offer those students on Free School Meals the opportunity of a free breakfast and we will keep you updated on this.

- Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods)
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guarantee element of Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
